ESTA is the only school in France offering a Sales Engineering cursus over five years, or over three years for students having successfully completed a two-year technical diploma. The studies are characterized by a multidisciplinary programme where students switch daily between technological, sales, marketing, management and other subjects.
At ESTA, students follow a challenging study programme, where lectures from different educational pillars alternate daily. As classes are small, there are no options to choose, so all students follow the same courses. Technical subjects are dealt with by teachers from the nearby Technical University Belfort Montbéliard UTBM, and practical exercises are also carried out in their laboratories.
ESTA's education includes intensive professional language training (English and German/Spanish/Italian): Nearly 12 hours per week in small classes of about 10 students are perfect preparation for their future in an international environment.
All ESTA students complete a placement in a company in a non French Speaking country. This great experience allows the students to develop in a foreign culture. Thanks to the intensive language traning, they are quickly and easily integrated into local companies. In 2016, ESTA students went to more than 35 different countries.
In their fourth year, five-year students have the opportunity to spend an academic exchange semester in one of ESTA's European partner universities. Or they can go for a whole academic exchange year to the University of Applied Sciences in Turku (Finland), thus enabling them to obtain both the local Bachelor's degree of Engineering in industrial Management and Engineering and the ESTA diploma thanks to a double degree agreement.
This option will allow students with a completed two-year education in chemistry and/or bio-technologies to become sales engineers in their specialisation. Students will follow the same cursus of sales, business and management subjects as classic three-year students, where as the technical subjects are mainly replaced by specific contents. This option is carried out in the partnership with the Enscmu, one of the leading French schools for chemistry based in Mulhouse. It is only available on the Belfort Campus.
ESTA was created over 30 years ago by Belfort industrialists with the aim of training Sales Engineers skilled in selling technical products on international markets.
Right from the start, the cursus has been tailored to the expectations of the school's founders, focussing on four educational pillars.
The education is enriched by intensive language training (English and German/Spanish/Italian) and by nearly two years of professional experience through five placements in companies, including one six-month overseas placement.
ESTA is the only school in France offering such a Sales Enginieering cursus over five years, with technical and commercial aspects integrated as from year one.
More than 900 ESTA graduates have become the school's ambassadors by applying their skills to the benefit of their respective companies. ESTA graduates are much sought after in industry, and more than 90% of graduates have a job contract by the time they obtain their diploma.
